Samarkand - A Gastronomic Delight

And Quaint Alleyways. By Dmitry Yagodin
07.09.2023   Dmitry Yagodin

First and foremost, Samarkand is a perfect place for connoisseurs of Uzbek cuisine. The aromas of spices and fresh ingredients literally fill the air. You notice it from the moment you arrive at Samarkand International Airport.

A special place in my heart is reserved for Uzbek pastries. They are sweetly crispy with a succulent meat filling inside, usually lamb, sometimes beef.

Samarkand offers cozy nooks and small quarters. Here, you can find tranquility and solitude under the shade of a tall tree. You can discover Uzbek dinner tables with canopies and delicious food. The city has its own unique character, forged over centuries.
